Sanctuary Counseling Center is out-of-network for all insurance companies. This allows you and Katie to work together in order to create the most ideal therapy plan for you and your family without the interference or constraints of insurance companies and managed care.
If you plan to file for insurance reimbursement, please call your provider and inquire about their out-of-network mental health (sometimes called behavioral health) benefits. This number is usually found on the back of your insurance card.
Fees are due at the time of service. You will be provided a detailed receipt containing all the necessary information for you to submit a claim form to your insurance company. Claim forms are typically found on the insurance company’s website. Katie is considered an out-of-network provider.
Please be aware that most insurance companies require you to authorize a therapist to provide them with a clinical diagnostic code. On rare occasions, therapists have to provide additional clinical information such as treatment summaries or progress notes. This information will become part of the insurance company files. Though all insurance companies claim to keep such information confidential, Sanctuary Counseling Center has no control over your files once they are given to your insurance company. In some cases, they may share the information with a national medical information databank. You will be notified if we are contacted by your insurance company with any requests for information.
Billing and Payment
One-Time Intake Assessment Appointment: 60 minutes, $105 fee
Counseling appointments: 50 minutes, $95 fee
You are expected to pay in full for each session at the time of the session (cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted at Sanctuary Counseling Center). A returned check will result in a $20 fee along with a cash payment for the session. If you have financial concerns, please do not cancel your appointments, as payment arrangements, a short-term sliding scale, or payment installments can be made for special circumstances.
When Katie schedules an appointment with you, she is making a commitment to set aside that time and space for you. She asks for the same commitment from you when you schedule. Therefore, Sanctuary Counseling Center maintains a late-cancelation fee policy. If you must cancel or reschedule your appointment time, please provide the office with 24 hour notification. If you do not notify the office within 24 hours, you will be billed for the session. Emergencies happen, so please do your best to contact the office as soon as you know you have to miss your appointment. On a rare occasion, Katie may have to miss a session. You will be notified with as much notice as possible and every effort will be made to quickly reschedule your appointment.
If your account balance becomes more than 60 days overdue and arrangements for payment have not been agreed upon, Sanctuary Counseling Center has the option of using legal means to secure the payment. If such legal action is necessary, its costs will be included in the claim. In most collection situations, the only information necessary to release regarding a client’s treatment is his/her name, the nature of services provided, and the amount due.
Fees for forms, applications, or court
There is a $15 fee for any type of form, summary, application, assessment, report, court document, etc. If these copies are needed to be sent directly to an outside person or agency, other than the client themselves, a completed and signed Release of Information Form is additionally needed in order for Sanctuary Counseling Center to maintain confidentiality and ethical standards.
